The John Lee Hooker Foundation partners with the non-profit community to serve the needs of children and
youth in the areas of the arts, education and health.
Started in 2001 by The John Lee Hooker family, the foundation supports grass roots community-based
tax-exempt organizations in the San Francisco Bay area, the United States and the countries touched by
the music of John Lee Hooker.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise and distribute funds to other non-profit community-based
organizations or individuals with specific economic hardships.
The aim of the Foundation is to try to provide other non-profit community-based organizations with
supplemental funding so they in turn can maintain existing programs and provide new and better services
for their local communities.
The goal of the Foundation is to continuously raise and maintain a surplus of funding year-round for
distribution to organizations.
